SECTION 106 OF THE NATIONAL HISTORIC PRESERVATION ACT OF 1966 AS AMENDED (2006)
FARRINGTON HIGHWAY RESURFACING
VICINITY OF KILI DRIVE TO SATELLITE TRACKING STATION ROAD
DISTRICT OF WAIANAE, ISLAND OF OAHU

Notice is hereby given that the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and State of Hawaii Department of Transportation, Highways Division (HDOT) propose to improve safety features and provide smooth rideability on Farrington Highway from the vicinity of Kili Drive to Satellite Tracking Station Road. This proposed project is a federal funded HDOT project. It will be considered a federal action and undertaking, as defined by Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) of 1966, as amended (2006). The project includes cold planing and resurfacing the existing road; reconstructing weakened pavement areas; utility adjustment; upgrading of existing guardrails, end treatments, and bridge end post transitions; shoulder widening; regrading; installation of new guardrails, bridge metal pedestrian railing, milled centerline and shoulder rumble strips, pavement safety edge, shoulder dressing, reflector markers, milepost reference markers, pavement markings, and striping; replacement of signage; stabilization and realignment of a portion of existing road; rockfall protection; and hydromulch-seeding. The project’s proposed area of potential effect will fall within the State right-of-way. See attached project location map.
