REQUEST FOR PUBLIC COMMENTS
ON AGRICULTURAL BURNING PERMIT
(Docket No. 15-CA-PA-20)
The Department of Health, Clean Air Branch (DOH), is requesting public comments on the current 2015-2016 Agricultural Burning Permit (AGP) No. 15-005P for:
Hawaiian Commercial & Sugar Company (HC&S)
Sugar Cane Fields, Maui
AGP No. 15-005P issued to HC&S conditionally authorizes the burning of sugar cane in Central Maui. The permit incorporates permit conditions to minimize visible ground level smoke in community areas including pre-burn, during the burn and post-burn requirements for each field. Interested persons should review the permit conditions and requirements in providing comments and recommendations.
Agricultural Burning Permits are processed in accordance with Hawaii Administrative Rules. Chapter 11-60.1, Air Pollution Control and are valid for one year.
