PUBLIC NOTICE
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) FUNDS

Pursuant to the City and County of Honolulu’s (City) Citizen Participation Plan, the proposed reprogramming of CDBG funds is provided for your information. The City desires to reprogram funds to a Fiscal Year 2015 acquisition project, to expedite the drawdown of funds and assist the City in meeting the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) timeliness test. The proposed revisions to the following Fiscal Year projects are provided for your information and use.

AWARD REDUCTION OF $153,393
Easter Seals Hawaii – West Oahu Culinary Training Project
Project Description: Funds for the renovation of Easter Seals Hawaii’s Napuakea Service Center kitchen to convert it into a commercial kitchen to provide a culinary training program for their participants.

Kalihi-Palama Health Center – Phase I Comprehensive Women and Children’s Health Facility
Project Description: Funds for the Phase I construction of Kalihi-Palama Health Center’s two-phase project.

Proposed Amount: $0 (originally $1,600,000)

Project Description: Funds to provide low cost loans to low- and moderate-income homeowners island-wide.

NEW AWARD OF $2,853,393
Trillium Housing Services – Kaneohe Elderly Apartments
Project Description: The City will award $2,853,393 in CDBG grant funds for the acquisition of an affordable rental housing project for seniors in Kaneohe.
