HAWAI`I OFFICE OF DISCIPLINARY COUNSEL
CHIEF DISCIPLINARY COUNSEL

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel (ODC):
(1) investigates ethics complaints against attorneys and prosecutes violations of the Hawai`i Rules of Professional Conduct; (2) issues informal ethics opinions to bar members; and (3) engages in educational outreach.

The Chief Disciplinary Counsel (CDC) is responsible for the overall management and supervision of the ODC and the administration of the Lawyers’ Trust Fund for Client Protection. The CDC reports to the Disciplinary Board of the Hawai`i Supreme Court.

The Disciplinary Board is seeking candidates for the CDC position. A candidate must be a member in good standing of the Hawai`i State Bar or be qualified for admission to the Hawai`i State Bar and able to obtain such status at the earliest opportunity; have ten years of experience in the practice of law; possess strong legal analysis and writing skills; have management/administrative/information technology experience; and excellent interpersonal skills.
