NOTICE OF PUBLICATION AND NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that the Council of the County of Kaua’i will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at 1:30 p.m., or soon thereafter, at the Council Chambers, 4396 Rice Street, Room 201, Historic County Building, Lihu’e, on the following:
Resolution No. 2014-27
RESOLUTION PROPOSING A CHARTER AMENDMENT RELATING TO THE COST CONTROL COMMISSION
The purpose of this Resolution is to amend the Kaua’i County Charter (“Charter”) by amending XXVIII, relating to the County Cost Control Commission (“Commission”). The proposed amendment to Section 28.01 would prohibit County of Kaua’i government employees from serving on this Commission. This amendment would also clarify that employees of other governmental jurisdictions may be appointed and confirmed to serve on this Commission.
This proposed amendment will be submitted for a vote by the electorate on the 2014 General Election ballot upon adoption of this Resolution by the Kaua’i County Council.
All interested persons who wish to present their comments may do so at the public hearing. Written testimony prior to the hearing would be appreciated. Copies of the proposed ordinance are available at the Office of the County Clerk, Council Services Division.
(The Council Committee or Council may amend this Resolution at its subsequent meetings. Meeting notices are posted at least 6 days in advance at the County Clerk’s Office and the public may also testify at any of these meetings.)
