NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of a hearing to be held by the Planning Commission of the County of Kauai at the Lihue Civic Center, Moikeha Building, Meeting Rooms 2A and 2B, 4444 Rice Street, Lihue, Kauai on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, starting at 9:00 a.m. or soon thereafter to consider pursuant to provisions of Chapter 8 of the Kauai County Code 1987, as amended, and Special Management Area Rules and Regulations of the County of Kauai, the following:
1) Class IV Zoning Permit Z-IV-2014-13 and Use Permit U-2014-12 to allow establishment of a group child care center facility on parcels located along the mauka side of Oka Road in Kilauea Town, situated approx. 150 ft. north of the Oka Road/Momi Street intersection, further identified as Tax Map Keys (4) 5-2-014: 021 & 5-2-015: 079, and containing a total area of approx. 18,467 sq. ft.
2) Class IV Zoning Permit Z-IV-2014-14 and Use Permit U-2014-13 to convert existing residence into a commercial operation for shipping, printing and storage services, on a parcel located along the makai side of Kuhio Highway in Kapaa Town, situated approx. 100 ft. north of the Panihi Road/Kuhio Highway intersection, further identified as Tax Map Key (4) 4-5-003: 016, and containing a total area of approx. 11,250 sq. ft.
3) Class IV Zoning Permit Z-IV-2014-15 and Use Permit U-2014-14 for a development containing a mixture of commercial use and multi-family residential units, on a parcel located along the western side of Poipu Road in Koloa, situated just north of the Koloa Estates Residential Subdivision and approx. 850 ft. from its intersection with Lopaka Paipa Boulevard, further identified as Tax Map Key (4) 2-6-004: 032, and containing a total area of approx. 63,815 sq. ft.
4) Special Management Area Use Permit SMA(U)-2014-6 to allow construction of an additional dwelling unit (ADU) on a parcel located along the makai side of Hoona Road, in Koloa, situated approx. 200 ft. east of its intersection with Lawai Road, further identified as Tax Map Key 2-6-006: 021, and containing a total land area of 9,910 sq. ft.
All persons may present testimony for or against any application as public witnesses. Such testimony should be made in writing and presented to the Department prior to the hearing. Late written testimony may be submitted up to seven days after the close of the hearing in cases where the Commission does not take action on the same day as the hearing. Any party may be represented by counsel if he or she so desires. Also, individuals may appear on their own behalf, a member of a partnership may represent the partnership, and an officer or authorized employee of a corporation or trust or association may represent the corporation, trust or association. The proposed rules are available for inspection during normal business hours at the address above. Copies of the proposal may be mailed to any person willing to pay the required fees for copying and postage. Mailing requests may be made to the Department in writing at the address above.
