Notice is hereby given that the Council of the County of Kaua’i will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at 1:30 p.m., or soon thereafter, at the Council Chambers, 4396 Rice Street, Room 201, Historic County Building, Lihu’e, on the following:
Resolution No. 2014-22
RESOLUTION PROPOSING A CHARTER AMENDMENT RELATING TO THE CODE
The purpose of this Resolution is to amend the Kaua’i County Charter (“Charter”) by amending Article XX, relating to the Code of Ethics. The proposed amendment to Section 20.02(D) would prohibit an officer or employee of the County from appearing on behalf of private interests before any county board, commission, or agency on which the officer or employee sits or is employed. As used in the Charter, an officer of the County includes any member of any board or commission of the County.
This proposed amendment will be submitted for a vote by the electorate on the 2014 General Election ballot upon adoption of this Resolution by the Kaua’i County Council.
All interested persons who wish to present their comments may do so at the public hearing. Written testimony prior to the hearing would be appreciated. Copies of the proposed ordinance are available at the Office of the County Clerk, Council Services Division.
