PUBLIC NOTICE
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) FUNDS
Pursuant to the City and County of Honolulu’s (City) Citizen Participation Plan, the proposed reprogramming of CDBG funds is provided for your information. The City desires to reprogram funds from prior Fiscal Year projects and appropriate funds to Fiscal Year 2014 capital improvement projects, to expedite the drawdown of funds and assist the City in meeting the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) timeliness test. The proposed revisions to the following Fiscal Year projects are provided for your information and use. In addition, to assist with meeting the HUD timeliness requirement, the City intends to float $1,511,411 from its CDBG Line of Credit with an anticipated repayment from the Hui Kauhale, Hibiscus Hills project by May 15, 2015 as noted below in the project activity description.

Hui-Kauhale – Hibiscus Hill Apartments
Project Description: The City will float $1,511,411 of its CDBG Line of Credit for the acquisition of affordable rental housing for the Central Oahu population. The City anticipates receiving $1,511,411 from Hui Kauhale in CDBG program income by May 15, 2015 for repayment of the CDBG float funds. If for any reason the $1,511,411 in program income is not receipted within 2.5 years of the initial float, the City will reprogram CDBG funds from completed and/or stalled CDBG projects to cover the $1,511,411 following its Citizen Participation and Action Plan amendment process.
