NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given that the City and County of Honolulu intends to lease City-owned properties for nominal rents as follows:

1. A newly constructed (2011) large, two story, single family dwelling with nine (9) bedrooms, four (4) bathrooms, one kitchen, two (2) living areas, and five (5) parking spaces on a 6,000 square foot site, to Child and Family Service, a non-profit corporation, to provide emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence and their children. The building is located at a confidential site on Oahu. The lease rent will be $1.00 per year for a five (5) year term.

2. A single family, two story dwelling containing five (5) bedrooms, three (3) bathrooms, and a garage on a 4,069 square foot lot, to Hale Kipa, Inc., a nonprofit corporation, to provide a group home for special needs youth transitioning out of homelessness. The building is located at 91-1002 Apa’a Street, Ewa Beach, Hawaii 96706, TMK: 9-1-065:001. The lease rent will be $1,200 per year for a five (5) year term.

In compliance with Section 28-3.5, Revised Ordinances of Honolulu, a public hearing for the leases of City properties will be held as follows:

All interested persons are invited to attend such hearing and to state their views relative to the proposed leases, either orally or in writing. Written comments may be addressed to Pamela A. Witty-Oakland, Director of Community Services, 715 South King Street, Suite 311, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813. Questions regarding the hearing and proposed leases may be directed to Pamela A. Witty-Oakland at the above address or telephone 768-7760 on regular business days between 7:45 am and 4:30 pm.

Any persons planning to attend the public hearing who may require special accommodations or assistance should make their request by telephoning 768-7760 at least three (3) days prior to the scheduled date of the hearing.
