STATE OF HAWAII ADMINISTRATIVE RULES SPECIALIST Duties: Draft tax information releases, informing the public of the Department’s position on tax issues; letter rulings responding to inquiries from taxpayers requesting information on the tax consequences of a particular transaction; administrative rules; and announcements. Administrative Rules Specialists provide advice to the Director of Taxation and other divisions of the Department. Administrative Rules Specialists will also be responsible for drafting legislation for the Department, preparing testimony for tax bills, testifying on behalf of the Department, attending hearings, and responding to questions from the legislators concerning legislation. Desired Education: J.D. from an accredited law school Desirable Experience: Three years of experience as an attorney, which provided good working knowledge of Federal and Hawaii tax laws, rules, procedures, etc. and their application to various tax issues.
