PROCLAMATION
Pursuant to Section 17-1, Hawaii Revised Statutes, I, SCOTT T. NAGO, Chief Election Officer of the State of Hawaii do hereby proclaim that a Primary Election will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2014 and that a General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. throughout the State of Hawaii to fill a vacancy in the office of United States Senator, caused by the death of the Honorable Daniel K. Inouye, by nominating and electing one senator for the unexpired term ending at noon on the third day of January, 2017.
Nomination papers to be signed by not less than twenty-five registered voters from the State of Hawaii will be made available, beginning on February 3, 2014, in the Office of Elections and the Offices of the County Clerks of Hawaii, Maui and Kauai. Candidates to fill the vacant office shall file completed nomination papers not later than 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 in the Office of Elections or the Offices of the County Clerks of Hawaii, Maui and Kauai.
