Responsible for the Substance Abuse Certification function within the Division which includes developing, implementing, coordinating, maintaining and periodically reviewing and updating the Division’s certification process for substance abuse counselors, program administrators, prevention specialists, clinical supervisors, criminal justice addictions professionals and co-occurring disorder professionals per state statues. In addition to the Certification responsibilities this position also plans, directs and supervises the operation of the Office. Req. bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4 year college or university in sociology, social work, psychology, public health or other related major; 1-1/2 yrs. experience in social work, public health or other related fields which required knowledge of current social and economic conditions, community organization and the services and/or programs they offer to the community relative to alcohol and drugs, the prevention of substance abuse and the treatment and rehabilitation of substance abusers; 2 yrs. specialized exp. which demonstrated the ability to conduct studies and analyses of programs or projects through active participation in the planning, coordination, development and/or evaluation of program and/or program activities relative to alcohol and drugs, the prevention of substance abuse and the treatment and rehabilitation of substance abusers.
