STATE OF HAWAII – DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH
FULL-TIME EXEMPT POSITION

Senior Planner ($60,000 – $65,000/year)

Manages a system to continuously develop, modify and revise preparedness plans required by the CDC Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) Cooperative Agreement and ensures that they are current, vetted, approved and capture best practices for All Hazards.
Maintains an overview of disaster planning activities of all appropriate segments of the Department by coordinating these activities with the heads and/or staff of programs involved with planning.
Establishes and maintains cooperative, consultative and coordinated relationships with various public, private, and military health care professionals and disaster response agencies to develop inter-departmental and inter-sectoral coordination of disaster exercises, training and plans.
Completes plans and reports to meet the goals and objectives of the CDC Preparedness Cooperative Agreements and Grants.
Supervises two Planners on Oahu and provides technical support to CDC funded PHEP planners statewide.
Knowledge and experience in Public Health and emergency response planning, as well as National Incident Management System (NIMS) and the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree. A master’s degree in a biological science or public health is strongly recommended.
Clinical and/or previous hospital administration/operations experience preferred

BT Planner IV ($50,000 -$55,000/year)
Prepares and revises various disaster response plans for the Department as guided by the Senior Planner. Coordinates and monitors efforts to implement the plan and prepares progress reports, comprehensive reviews and revisions of the plan as required.
Organizes and provides training to departmental personnel in the Incident Command System, Unified Command System, and the contents of Department and program-specific disaster and recovery plans.
Plans and coordinates disaster response exercises and drills.
Evaluates results of disaster exercises in collaboration with the Senior Planner and ensures that necessary corrective actions are taken and impacted disaster response plans and programs are updated.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree and/or 3 years’ experience in public health emergency response planning, and in-depth knowledge of the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program.
Strong writing, training and presentation skills required

BTP Public Health Educator IV ($45,000 – $50,000/year)

Plan and coordinate implementation of community outreach and health education campaigns for preparedness and response to all hazards, pandemic flu and other public health emergencies.
Experience working in public health emergency preparedness, communications, public health education and outreach.
Social media and advanced website or computer graphics experience desirable.
Strong writing and presentation skills required.
Knowledge of print, web and video production helpful.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree.

Data Processing Systems Analyst ($42,000/Year)

Provide networking and applications support for the Department of Health’s Public Health Preparedness program
Configure and install network servers and clients
Perform analysis, design, programming and implementation of application systems
Provide help desk support and end user training
Experience with Windows 2K Servers, Windows 7, Mobile Devices, DNS, DHCP, IIS, TCP/IP, SQL Server, GIS, Backup Exec, MS Office Suite, and web based programming languages
Overall experience in a MS Windows environment a big plus
Require 2 years of experience in office systems and procedures, with 1 ½ of those yrs. involved in Information Technology, feasibility studies, programming, and systems development.
