COUNCIL ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
VACANCY WITH THE CITY COUNCIL
CITY AND COUNTY OF HONOLULU
The Honolulu City Council is recruiting for an exempt (non-civil service) position. The incumbent shall compile, review and disseminate information and also perform other administrative duties.
Qualifications: The selected person must have good and prompt attendance, capable grammatical and people skills as he/she will be stationed in the Council’s reception room. Other desired qualifications are: 1) graduation from an accredited college or university, 2) three years of computer-web experience, 3) three years of office work experience in which the applicant has learned office practices and procedures and 4) poise and ability to operate under pressure and within multi-deadlines and 5) a valid Hawaii State driver’s license.
Examples of duties: greet guests and contact Council members’ staff of their arrival; provide assistance to callers and/or direct them to the appropriate agency; record messages for council members and staff; conceptualize and design websites and web pages; ensure on-line data is user-friendly; upload new data; modify the websites and web pages as requested or as needed; draft and finalize memos
and letters; review incoming requests to the Council; research and review material, and review documents for bid solicitations and requests for proposals.
Salary range: $2,776 to $4,276 per month.
