NOTICE OF ANTICIPATED VACANCIES
IN JUDICIAL OFFICE

The Judicial Selection Commission is accepting nominations and applications to fill the following anticipated vacancies in judicial offices in the State of Hawai’i:
Chief Justice, Supreme Court
Associate Judge, Intermediate Court of Appeals
Circuit Judge, Circuit Court of the First Circuit
The Constitution of the State of Hawai’i requires that the persons selected by the Commission be residents and citizens of the State of Hawai’i and of the United States, and have been licensed to practice law by the Hawai’i Supreme Court. A justice of the supreme court, a judge of the intermediate appellate court and a judge of the circuit court shall have been so licensed for a period of not less than ten years preceding nomination.
The Commission invites anyone interested to nominate individuals who meet the constitutional requirements. Nominations should be mailed to the address below on or before Monday, September 21, 2009.
Applicants should submit a letter indicating the judicial office(s) applying for referred to in this notice before the application deadline. The Application for Judicial Office (JS-P-084) form is available at http://www.courts.state.hi.us, Judicial Selection Commission. Your completed application must be post-marked or delivered to the Commission on or before Monday, October 5, 2009.
