CITY AND COUNTY OF HONOLULU
OPENING OF THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY SERVICES, WORKHAWAII
RENT TO WORK PROGRAM

Starting, Monday, August 10, 2009, the City and County of Honolulu, WorkHawaii, Rent To Work (RTW) Program will be accepting applications for its Rent To Work (RTW) Voucher. The RTW provides short-term rental assistance to persons experiencing homelessness as federally defined and have participated in the Oahu WorkLinks (OWL) program by (1) keeping appointments with an OWL counselor a minimum of six times over a period of two months, being punctual, as confirmed in writing by an OWL employee; AND (2) attending at least one OWL workshop over a period of two months, as confirmed in writing by an OWL employee. Applications will be available at the WorkHawaii’s Dillingham Oahu WorkLinks Center located at 1505 Dillingham Blvd., Room 110 and Waianae Oahu WorkLinks Center located at 85-670 Farrington Hwy from 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.

Rent To Work applications will continue to be accepted until the program reaches its capacity. Signs will be posted at WorkHawaii’s Dillingham and Waianae Centers, a notice will be published, and notices sent to referral agencies informing the general public that the Rent To Work program is closed.
