Training Site Environmental Specialist (TSES) Manager

$4,600 – $6,800 per month, plus benefits

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The responsibilities of the Training Site Environmental (TSES) Manager are to implement and manage a wide range of environmental compliance programs in accordance with applicable Federal, Sate, local, DoD and Army Regulations. This includes operational and training activities pertaining to environmental matters. The function of this position is to ensure continuity with regulatory requirements for environmental issues on Department of Defense, Hawaii Army National Guard. Must be able to lift and relocate objects weighing up to 25 lbs unassisted.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelors degree from an accredited four year college or university in environmental science, public health, public administration, biology, conservation, natural resources or related field.
Experience: Two year experience in environmental compliance with detailed knowledge of environmental laws and regulations. Practical knowledge of the following management protocols: air, noise and water pollution prevention, conservation and natural resources and hazardous waste management. Prior military experience is highly desirable with management of staff level experience.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Training Site Environmental Specialist (TSES) is responsible for the Environmental Compliance Program for the Hawaii Army National Guard (HIARNG) sites and facilities. This position is responsible for implementing, administering, and monitoring programs, contracts and operational activities to ensure compliance with air quality, pollution prevention, natural/cultural resources, water quality, hazardous materials/waste management, solid waste, spill prevention/response, environmental noise management and long term remediation. The incumbent must be knowledgeable in all applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations. Must be able to lift and relocate objects weighing up to 25 lbs unassisted.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalence based on high school diploma and direct work experience to the job functions of the position may be substituted for each year of a 4 year college education, e. g., 1 year of direct work experience may substitute for 1 year of college education.
Experience: Two years experience in leadership or coordination position. One year experience in environmental compliance with detailed knowledge of environmental laws and regulations. Knowledge of military procedures and protocols is highly desirable.
