An election will be conducted for a seat on the Board of Trustees of the Employees’ Retirement System of the State of Hawai`i, pursuant to section 88-24, Hawai`i Revised Statutes, and chapter 6-24, Hawai`i Administrative Rules. The term will be for six years beginning January 4, 2010.

The seat must be filled by an Employees’ Retirement System member who is: a teacher, regularly engaged in public education, whose salary is wholly or partly paid by the State; an educational officer certified as a teacher by the Department of Education; or a professor, instructor, lecturer or dean certified of the University of Hawaii or the community college system.

A petition and resume must be received by the Employees’ Retirement System at its Honolulu office no later than 4:30 p.m. on August 17, 2009.

Lists of candidates proposed by employee (teacher) organizations must be received by the Employees’ Retirement System at its Honolulu office no later than 4:30 p.m. on August 17, 2009.
