WAIMANALO GULCH SANITARY LANDFILL

Land Area: 200.622 acres (2008/SUP-2); 107.5 acres (86/SUP-5)
REQUEST: The Applicant proposes an expansion of the existing
Waimanalo Gulch Sanitary Landfill and accessory uses to encompass the entire 200.622-acre landfill property owned by the City and County of Honolulu. The proposal is projected to provide land filling capacity for at least 15 years.
The Applicant proposes to withdraw State Special Use
Permit number 86/SUP-5 which allowed a municipal solid
waste landfill and accessory uses on approximately 107.5
acres. Withdrawal of 86/SUP-5 would be contingent on the
approval of SUP application number 2008/SUP-2.
PETITION FOR INTERVENTION
To consider a petition filed by petitioners Ko Olina Community Association (KOCA), Colleen Hanabusa and Maile Shimabukuro to intervene in the proceedings to consider a new State Special Use Permit for the Waimanalo Gulch Sanitary Landfill to expand the land filling capacity for at least 15 years in Ewa, Tax May Key 9-2-3: 72 and 73.
