The State Rehabilitation Council (SRC) of Hawaii and the Department of Human Services, Vocational Rehabilitation and Services for the Blind Division, will hold a public hearing to receive comments on the State Plan for Vocational Rehabilitation Services.

The submittal to the Federal government of the State Plans is a requirement for the continuing flow of grant funds to support the activities of the independent living and vocational rehabilitation programs. The State Plans cover the method of operation of the state agency.

All interested persons are invited to attend the hearing and to state their views relative to the Plans either orally or in writing. Should written comments be presented, one (1) copy shall be made available to the presiding officer at the public hearing or to the VR Administrator, 601 Kamokila Blvd., Room 515, Kapolei, HI 96707, by April 24, 2009. Copies of the plan can be viewed on the Vocational Rehabilitation website after April 20, 2009 at hawaiivr.org.

Copies of the State Plans may be obtained in advance of the public hearing after April 20, 2009 by calling for them in person at any of the following Vocational Rehabilitation offices on regular business days between 7:45 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. or by requesting a copy by mail.
