HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES FOR PERSONS WITH AIDS (HOPWA) PROGRAMS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that copies of the City and County of Honolulu’s (City’s) Draft Consolidated Plan for fiscal years 2011-2015 are available for review at the Municipal Reference Library, City Hall Annex, 558 South King Street, Honolulu and can be viewed by accessing the City’s website at http://www.honolulu.gov/budget/cdbg.htm.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requires state and local governments to submit a five-year Consolidated Plan and annual Action Plan to receive funds from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Emergency Shelter Grants (ESG), HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME), and Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS (HOPWA) Programs. The City’s Draft Consolidated Plan was developed as a collaborative process through which the community identified its housing, homeless and community development needs. The Consolidated Plan establishes goals, priorities, strategies and programs to address those needs and identifies how HUD funds included in the Consolidated Plan will be spent for fiscal years 2011-2015.

Interested parties are invited to review the City’s Draft Consolidated Plan for fiscal years 2011-2015 and submit comments by May 14, 2009 to:

City and County of Honolulu
530 South King Street, Room 208

Once approved by the City Council, the Final Consolidated Plan for fiscal years 2011-2015 will be made available to the public then submitted to the HUD for approval.
