Emergency Logistics Project Planners

The Task Force for Emergency Readiness Project (TFER) is a Homeland Security Grant pilot project designed to test integrating military planning skills with emergency management planning. Emergency Logistics Planners will assist State emergency management officials in the development and execution of a comprehensive and integrated state-level catastrophic preparedness program that spans the continuum of prevention, protection, response and recovery missions. Planning products will fuse civilian and military deliberate planning methodology, support continuous improvement in catastrophic preparedness and foster public and private sector resilience to minimizing the consequences of disasters. The project is anticipated to last 12 to 18 months based on available funding.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES

Under the guidance of the Homeland Security, the Emergency Logistics Planners for the Task Force for Emergency Readiness, provides independent professional level emergency management support and planning assistance to local jurisdictions, State and Federal agencies for the pilot program – Task Force for Emergency Readiness. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limtied to the development and implementation of contingency plans; and the analyses of logistics processes and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Four (4) years of progressively responsible professional experience in government, military, or private sector planning which included the development and implementation of operations, logistics, or emergency management-related plans. Knowledge of military procedures and protocols is desirable.
