Investigator IV
Salary range: $45,576 to $67,488
The Insurance Division of the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, State of Hawaii is seeking a qualified individual for a full time, permanent, exempt position to conduct investigations of, and respond to, complaints involving health insurers. The investigator will also review complaint histories to determine trends and market misconduct. The investigator may assist with market conduct examinations of, and legal enforcement actions against, health insurers. This position is located on Oahu.
Experience: Minimum two and one-half years investigative experience to include writing clear and comprehensive reports, reading and interpreting complex written material, interpreting and applying statutes and rules, performing research, and dealing with the public. Insurance experience preferred but not required.
Recommended Skills: Ability to apply investigative techniques, deal with the public, interpret and analyze financial information, communicate clearly and precisely interpretation of analytical data, interpret laws, and gather and analyze facts. Ability to write clear investigative reports and conduct investigative interviews and inquiries.
Minimum Education and Training: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Excess experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.
