Administers non-medical operations for the Kalaupapa Settlement to provide services required to sustain everyday living for a small isolated rural community.

Req. high school diploma & valid driver’s license. In addition, 4 yrs. maintenance construction exp. incl. responsibility for planning & directing operations; timing & scheduling work; maintaining standards in materials used & work performed; interpreting plans, drawings, & specifications; property control; & effecting proper observance of safety measures appropriate to construction or maintenance projects. Applicants must also have 2 yrs. maintenance construction exp. in an institutional, public works, plant maintenance or related program requiring working knowledge of inspection & maintenance methods, techniques, & principles of utility systems. Appropriate substitutions allowed.

Employee is provided housing, meals and basic household supplies; and reimbursement for one round trip to a neighbor island per quarter.
