Project Title and Description: Waipahu Jack Hall Memorial Housing

The City and County of Honolulu intends to allow the owner-operator of this CDBG-assisted multi-family rental project to implement revised tenant selection procedures approved by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. The project currently gives preference to members of the general public that qualify for assistance under the Section 8 housing assistance payments voucher program. The project now proposes to award: (1) one additional preference point to working families, the heads of which are employed, age 62 or older, or handicapped; and (2) one additional preference point to families, the heads of which are active or retired members of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union. Applicants with the greatest number of preference points will receive first consideration for housing in the project. All applicants must continue to be Section 8-eligible.
