BID FORMS for IFB No. 09-0126, with plans, Reroof Various Buildings, University of Hawaii at Hilo, will be available from and received in the OFFICE OF PROCUREMENT AND REAL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT (OPRPM), UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII, 1400 LOWER CAMPUS ROAD, ROOM 15, HONOLULU, HAWAII 96822 OR at the University of Hawaii at Hilo, Facilities Planning and Construction Office, 200 W. Kawili Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720-4091.

Written notice of intention to bid is due in OPRPM by 4:30 p.m., November 18, 2008. Intention to bid via FAX (808) 956-2093 is acceptable.

Due to conditions at the site that may not be clearly identified in technical specifications and plans, it is highly recommended that all bidders attend a pre-bid conference/job site walk-through at 10:00 a.m., October 31, 2008, at the University of Hawaii at Hilo campus, Institute for Astronomy Building, Meeting Room #131, 640 N. Aohoku Place, Hilo, Hawaii. There is no charge for parking. Parking stalls fronting the building is available or in the upper parking lot. Requests for Substitution/Clarification must be submitted to the Technical Representative, no later than 4:00 p.m., November 7, 2008.

Bids must be submitted no later than 2:30 p.m., December 1, 2008.

Bids will be opened at 2:30 p.m., December 4, 2008.

The project in general consists of selective demolition, removal of solar panels, asbestos abatement, roof sheathing, metal roofing and siding, insulation, painting, gas water heaters, related plumbing, electrical work, the replacement of the copper gutter, 3-inch PVC downspouts and concrete splash blocks as required for reroofing of the gym and various buildings as specified in the Plans and Technical Specifications and all other related work. Storage containers must also be provided as specified. To also provide additional work to include the installation of a new copper gutter, 3-inch PVC downspouts and concrete splash blocks to the west side of the south wing at Building 300A.

To be eligible to bid, bidders must possess a valid State of Hawaii contractor’s license A.

BIDS FROM CONTRACTORS NOT LICENSED IN THE STATE OF HAWAII WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

Bids received after the due time and date(s) fixed above will not be considered.
