HAWAII PUBLIC HOUSING AUTHORITY (HPHA)

On behalf of the State of Hawaii and the employees of Hawaii Public Housing Authority (HPHA), we invite the following highly motivated and dedicated professionals to join our team and make a difference!

Hearings Officer ($60,000+)

General responsibilities of this position are to represent the agency in (quasi-judicial) eviction hearings pursuant to statutes, administrative rules, policy, and federal regulations; to prepare the necessary documents for the eviction process; to provide information to administration, staff and the public about HPHA’s eviction procedure; and to establish and perform related administrative duties pertaining to the eviction process and operation of the HPHA hearings office.

Minimum qualifications: Graduation from a school of law recognized by the American Bar Association. Two years of practice involving knowledge of administrative procedures and appeal of contested case hearings which involve interpretation and application of policy, rules and regulations which demonstrate skill in the analysis and presentation of cases with complex issues. Three (3) years of general experience work which involve gathering, evaluating, and analyzing facts for problem-solving; identifying, evaluating, and analyzing legal issues, and interpreting and applying relevant statutes, rules, policy, and regulations. Two (2) years of supervisory experience which include planning, budgeting, organizing, staffing, policy formation and implementation.
