LEGAL CLERK II

Permanent Vacancy – Office of the Prosecuting
Attorney in Kona and future island-wide vacancies

Starting salary: $2,503.00 – $3,848.00/month

Minimum Requirements: A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from high school, and two years of legal clerical work experience involving the preparation, typing, and processing of a variety of legal forms and documents which required knowledge of common legal terminology, procedures, practices, forms, and documents. A current typing proficiency certificate with a minimum typing speed of 40 net words per minute (submit a copy of your typing proficiency certificate) and, as applicable to the position, a current proficiency certificate for shorthand with a minimum dictation rate of 80 net words per minute (Legal – 5 minute test) must be presented at the time of filing. The immediate vacancy does not require shorthand.
License Requirement: Ability to travel independently to various geographic locations. This requirement may be fulfilled by the possession of a valid driver’s license, or use of other means of transportation that meets position needs. Only applicants who submit a copy of their valid driver’s license will be referred to those positions requiring a driver’s license. TRAFFIC TECHNICIAN II

Permanent Vacancy – Department of Public Works in Hilo and future island-wide vacancies

Starting salary: $2,813.00 – $4,328.00/month

Minimum Requirements: A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from high school and four years of work experience in conducting studies, research, or surveys; compiling and analyzing data, and recommending actions. One year of experience shall have involved technical work in support of a traffic engineering function specifically related to the position’s function relative to the design, CAD drafting, inspection, installation, monitoring, adjusting, and maintaining of traffic signs, markings, intersections, lighting, and/or signal controllers, and a valid driver’s license (submit a copy of your driver’s license).

WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT SUPERVISOR IV

Permanent Vacancy – Department of Environmental Management in Hilo and future island-wide vacancies

Starting salary: $5,046.00/month

Minimum Requirements: A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from high school and four and a half (4-1/2) years of experience which shall have involved the operation and maintenance and/or supervision of a Grade II, III, IV level wastewater treatment plant. License Requirement: Possession of permanent Hawai`i Mandatory Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Grade IV Certificate; possession of a valid driver’s license, and, as applicable to the position, possession of a good driving record certified by a current traffic abstract (a good driving record means not having any DUI convictions in the last three years and not having any speeding citations in the last twelve months), a current State of Hawai`i Medical Examiner’s Certificate prior to appointment; and a valid State of Hawai`i driver’s license (Class 4, non-CDL) prior to completion of probation (submit a copy of your driver’s license, your Hawai`i Mandatory Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Grade IV certificate, and a current traffic abstract).
