EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The HHFDC is seeking candidates for the position of Executive Director, who will be responsible for facilitating the development, financing and preservation of affordable housing in the State of Hawaii. The Executive Director reports to a nine-member Board of Directors and oversees daily operations and the implementation of HHFDC’s policies and plans.

The ideal candidate is a strongly committed individual with experience and knowledge of Hawaii land use planning, real estate financing or development of housing. Effective staff management, excellent communication skills, and community relations expertise are key qualities for the successful candidate. Familiarity with public administration, including the enforcement of rules and legislative matters, is a plus. Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year college or university or demonstrated equivalent experience and/or education.

The Executive Director position is exempt, non-civil service. The salary is determined by the Board pursuant to a salary limit that is set by state law. The statutory salary limit is currently $83,568; effective July 1, 2008, the statutory salary limit will be $92,616.
