BALLOT ISSUE COMMITTEES MUST REGISTER AND FILE REPORTS WITH THE CAMPAIGN SPENDING COMMISSION WHEN:

1. The issue is certified to be on the ballot in the 2008 election. (The Constitutional Convention issue has already been certified as of December 11, 2007.)

2. The committee receives contributions or makes expenditures that amount to more than $1,000, in the aggregate, in a two-year election period.

*Registration and reporting provides transparency for the public as to the committee’s contributions and expenditures.
