Starting salary: $2,224.00 – $3,420.00/month

Permanent Vacancy – Hawai`i Police Department in Hilo and future island-wide vacancies

Starting salary: $4,112.00 – $5,853.00/month

Minimum Requirements: A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major work in chemistry or a related field, and two years of laboratory work experience involving a variety of chemical analyses, one year of work experience in performing chemical and physical analyses of evidence in connection with the crime detection and law enforcement work, and a valid driver’s license (submit a copy of your transcript and driver’s license). Qualification for Firearms: Must be qualified to carry and/or possess firearm or ammunition in accordance with state and federal laws, e.g., no misdemeanor or felony domestic violence conviction. Complete Domestic Violence Questionnaire form and submit with application.

Starting salary: $2,816.00/month

Minimum Requirements: A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to completion of the eighth grade and one year of experience in the care of lawns, public grounds, or other landscaped areas which shall have included the climbing, trimming, and pruning of trees at varying heights and possession of a valid driver’s license (submit a copy of your driver’s license).

License Requirement: Ability to travel independently to various geographic locations. This requirement may be fulfilled by the possession of a valid driver’s license, or use of other means of transportation that meets position needs. RADIO TECHNICIAN I

Permanent Vacancy – Hawai`i Police Department in Hilo and future island-wide vacancies

Must be able to climb 250 ft. transmission line at 5,000 ft. elevation

Starting salary: $3,163.00/month

Minimum Requirements: A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from high school, supplemented by technical training in electronics and radio communications, and three years of technical work experience involving the installation, maintenance, repair, and modification of radio communications or related equipment, (examples are: two-way mobile radios, microwave equipment – cables, dishes, transmission lines, microwave terminals)and a valid driver’s license (submit a copy of your driver’s license).

TRAFFIC TECHNICIAN II

Permanent Vacancy – Department of Public Works in Hilo and future island-wide vacancies

Starting salary: $2,705.00 – $4,162.00/month

Minimum Requirements: A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from high school and four years of work experience in conducting studies, research, or surveys; compiling and analyzing data, and recommending actions. One year of experience shall have involved technical work in support of a traffic engineering function specifically related to the position’s function relative to the design, CAD drafting, inspection, installation, monitoring, adjusting, and maintaining of traffic signs, markings, intersections, lighting, and/or signal controllers, and a valid driver’s license (submit a copy of your driver’s license).
