The Office of Planning is recruiting for a Planning and Policy Analyst position. This position helps to carry out the responsibilities of the Hawaii Coastal Zone Management Program (CZM) in addressing critical and pressing issues facing Hawaii’s coastal resources. The position will be responsible for a variety of planning and policy analysis tasks and will be involved in many aspects of the CZM Program. The focus of this position is on nonpoint source pollution and helping the State of Hawaii to meet federal requirements in order to obtain federal approval of Hawaii’s nonpoint source pollution control program. This position helps to keep our ocean clean for swimming, surfing, fishing and other recreational uses and to protect fish, corals and other aquatic resources. The position is involved with writing reports, preparing requests for proposals and consultant contracts, project monitoring, coordinating with agencies and organizations and working on such issues as water quality, watershed management, drainage, storm water runoff, soil erosion, other land-based pollution and coral reef protection
Salary range: $3,652/mon. to $4,447/mon. Salary commensurate with experience. This is an exempt, non-civil service position.
