Notice of Public Comment
The State of Hawaii, Department of Health (HDOH) Family Health Services Division, Children with Special Health Needs Branch, Early Intervention Section (EIS), has posted on the EIS website the Annual State Application under Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act as amended in 2004 for federal fiscal year 2008.
To receive its allocation of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Part C funds, the State must submit an application to the U.S. Department of Education (USDOE), Secretary of Education. The application verifies that HDOH has reviewed its policies and procedures and assures that the provisions as required by Part C of IDEA 2004 (20 USC 1431-1444) will be complied with. As part of this process, USDOE requires all states to publish the application and receive comments.
The application is available for review at http://www.hawaii.gov/health/family-child-health/eis/index.html (click on “Annual State Application Under Part C of IDEA, Federal Fiscal Year 2008”) Copies will also be available for review at the Early Intervention Section, 1350 South King Street, Suite 200, Honolulu, Hawaii 96814. In addition, a copy of the document will be mailed to any interested person who contacts the Early Intervention Section at (808) 594-0000. Persons who are blind or visually impaired may call the Early Intervention Section to request assistance.
All comments must be received by the Early Intervention Section no later than 4:30 p.m. April 28, 2008.
