RESPONSIBLE to serve as the section supervisor to ensure that quality standards

are upheld; that Medicaid services provided comply with State/Federal

requirements; and also, to curtail Medicaid fraud and abuse both in the

managed care plans and fee-for-service programs.

Qualifications: Knowledge of: 1) Quality assurance standards for managed

care plans; 2) Various management systems that track medical data from the

managed care health plans and the fee-for-service providers; and 3) Federal

and State laws, rules and procedures regulating managed care plans and

Medicaid services.

Skills and Abilities: Ability to problem-solve and set goals and objectives;

plan and implement training sessions to providers/staff as a means to increase

understanding and compliance with State and Federal regulations; communicate

effectively, both orally and in writing; prepare clear and concise reports

and correspondence; establish and maintain effective working relations with

others; and be able to deal with government and community professionals and

the general public.

Education/Experience: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing,

preferably with a B.S. degree. The applicant must also have three years of

experience in the performance of coordinating and developing quality

assurance/improvement programs for managed care services to individuals

receiving Medicaid.
