REQUEST FOR APPLICATIONS TO PROVIDE TRAINING SERVICES
The Oahu Workforce Investment Board (OWIB) requests that organizations interested in providing tuition-based training to be funded under the federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA) for residents of the City and County of Honolulu, file an “Application for Long-Term and Short-Term Training Providers” with the Oahu Workforce Investment Board.
Potentially eligible providers are those organizations or schools that provide training programs to the public on a tuition or free basis and meet criteria established by the OWIB, the State of Hawaii Workforce Development Council, and Title I of the WIA (Eligible Adults and Dislocated Workers).
Approved providers will be placed on the State List of Eligible Training Providers for an initial eligibility period from the date of application approval to June 30, 2010. Only those programs specified by the provider in its application will be considered for eligibility. Providers must provide information that includes accreditation, licensure or certification, financial stability, and program performance measures.
Interested parties may obtain an application packet by visiting the Oahu Workforce Investment Board office at 838 South Beretania Street, Suite 207, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813 beginning Monday, March 10, 2008.
An informational meeting for interested parties will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2008 at the Dillingham One-Stop Center, 1505 Dillingham Boulevard, Suite #110, Honolulu, HI 96817.
