PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of a public hearing to be held by the Department of Planning and Permitting of the City and County of Honolulu under Chapter 21, Revised Ordinances of Honolulu, as amended, for the following application at the date and the time specified or soon thereafter:

APPLICATION: INTERIM PLANNED DEVELOPMENT –
TRANSIT and SPECIAL DISTRICT PERMIT (MAJOR) (SDD)

REQUEST: Interim Planned Development – Transit and Special District Permit (Major) to allow the development of a new multi-tower mixed use development, with a maximum height of 400 feet. The Project includes a 444-unit full-service hotel, six residential units, development rights for 68 affordable rental units, lobbies, private and semi-private residential amenity and activity areas, 517 parking stalls, a six-story parking podium, and amenity deck with a pool, eating and drinking establishments, a ballroom, ground floor commercial and restaurant spaces, two small public plazas, and other ground floor pedestrian and right- of-way improvements. A “sky garden” amenity deck at 350 feet above grade, which will include a pool, spa, eating establishment, and other luxury amenities, will connect the two high-rise towers. The proposed Project is within the BMX-3 Community Business District, and is less than one-half mile from the proposed Ala Moana transit station.

Maps showing the general location and boundaries of the area under consideration are on file at the Department of Planning and Permitting, Permit and Zoning Records Access, First Floor, Frank F. Fasi Municipal Building, 650 South King Street, and are available to the public for inspection during office hours, 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. All interested persons are invited to attend. Those persons desiring to testify may register prior to the public hearing at the public hearing site and are encouraged to submit one copy of their testimony in writing.

Attendance at the public hearing is not necessary to submit testimony. Written testimony may be faxed (768-6743) or mailed (650 South King Street, 7th Floor, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813) to the department prior to the hearing and will be considered in the evaluation of the request.
