Notice is hereby given that the Council of the County of Kaua’i will hold a public hearing on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 1:30 p.m., or soon thereafter, at the Council Chambers, 4396 Rice Street, Room 201, Historic County Building, Lihu’e, on the following:

Bill No. 2641
A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A LONG-TERM LEASE AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF HAWAI’I, DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, AIRPORTS DIVISION

This Bill proposes to authorize the County of Kaua’i to execute a long-term lease agreement for thirty-five (35) years with the State of Hawai’i, Department of Transportation, Airports Division for Space No. 004-124 at the Lihu’e Airport for the purpose of establishing a heliport/hangar, which is necessary to facilitate the access to the helicopter during emergencies and to protect the helicopter and other assets permitted by the lease from the elements.

A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. B-2016-812, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE OPERATING BUDGET OF THE COUNTY OF KAUA’I, STATE OF HAWAI’I, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR JULY 1, 2016 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2017, BY REVISING THE AMOUNTS ESTIMATED IN THE GENERAL FUND (Transportation Agency – Six (6) New On-Call Driver Positions)

This Bill proposes to amend Ordinance No. B-2016-812, as amended, relating to the Operating Budget of the County of Kaua’i, for the Fiscal Year 2016-2017, by revising the amounts estimated in the General Fund. This Bill would establish six (6) new on-call bus driver positions in account 001-4502-693.01-02, “Wages and Hourly Pay” in the Transportation Agency, Operations Division and does not require additional funding to the Transportation Agency’s Operating Budget.

All interested persons whowish to present their comments may do so at the public hearing. Written testimony prior to the hearing would be appreciated. Written testimony can be submitted to the Office of the County Clerk, Council Services Division by mail, facsimile, or via E-mail to counciltestimony@kauai.gov. Copies of the proposed Bills are available at the Office of the County Clerk, Council Services Division.

(The Council Committee or Council may amend these Bills at its subsequent meetings. Meeting notices are posted at least 6 days in advance at the County Clerk’s Office and the public may also testify at any of these meetings.)
