Accountant III

Performs fiscal and grant management responsibilities for the federal grant related to the Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) and Hospital Preparedness Program Projects.
Manages and oversees procurement for the federal grant including, but not limited to Small Purchases, Invitation for Bids, and Request for Proposals in accordance with state and federal rules and regulations.
Prepares budgetary and financial reports.
Assist in the development of internal control systems to administer the financial aspects of the Projects and insure all federal and state policies and regulations are satisfied.
Responsible for fiscal reviews of financial transactions and inventory records to insure appropriate documentation, internal controls, and asset management.
Education Requirement: Graduation form an accredited four year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in business consisting of at least 12 semester credit hours in accounting and/or auditing subjects.
Experience Requirement: Two (2) years of general experience. At least one and one-half (1 1/2) years’ of specialized experience in GAAP and generally accepted government accounting standards which demonstrated possession of knowledge and ability required to analyze data, detect errors, and correct inconsistencies in accounting records.
