REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS


The City and County of Honolulu, Department of Community Services ("DCS"), is seeking proposals from qualified, private nonprofit organizations to lease a City property to provide housing for persons with special needs.  The property is identified as follows: 

1.  ALEWA HEIGHTS PROPERTY  

  Location:  1816-A Alewa Drive  
                           
      Improvements:  A site that includes a 2 story, 6 bedrooms, 2.5 baths   respite center with staff offices and 2 multipurpose   activity rooms on a 29,103 square foot lot. 
   
  Use:  Operate a short term respite center for persons with   Alzheimer’s Disease and related disorders.           
                                                           

Selection of an organization to lease the property and the lease are subject to the approval of the City Council. The property was assisted with funds from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program and/or the HOME Investment Partnerships program and thus are subject to CDBG and/or HOME restrictions on use and management which are more fully described in the full Request for Proposals.

A Public Informational Meeting will be held on March 06, 2014 at the Department of Community Services, 715 South King Street,  Second Floor, Conference Room 205, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813 at 9:00 am.

Requests for clarifications or interpretations of any provision in the RFP may be submitted by a person in writing and delivered, mailed, emailed, or faxed to the Department of Community Services no later than 2:00 pm on
April 03, 2014

Interested parties may obtain a request for proposals packet at no charge from the Department of Community Services, 715 South King Street, Room 205, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813.  Proposals must be submitted no later than 2:00 pm on May 01, 2014.
