NOTICE OF CONSULTATION MEETING
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG),
HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIPS (HOME),
EMERGENCY SHELTER GRANTS (ESG) AND
HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES FOR PERSONS WITH AIDS (HOPWA) PROGRAMS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a consultation meeting will be held by the City and County of Honolulu (City) for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME), Emergency Shelter Grants (ESG), and Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS (HOPWA) Programs.

An initial consultation meeting was held on Friday, November 21, 2008, at the Mission Memorial Auditorium to provide interested persons with the opportunity to participate in the development of the housing and community needs for the City’s Consolidated Plan (CP) for fiscal years 2011-2015. The CP is meant to be a collaborative process whereby a community establishes a unified vision for community development actions. The City’s CP will be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) establishing the priority areas and projects that may be funded through the CDBG, HOME, ESG and HOPWA Programs in fiscal years 2011-2015. A copy of the City’s current Consolidated Plan for fiscal years 2006-2010 is available for viewing on the City’s website at http://www.honolulu.gov/budget/consol_plan_+2006_2010.pdf.

The purpose of this consultation meeting is to allow further comment in the development of the City’s CP and discuss the needs and consolidated priorities that were developed at the initial consultation meeting. The services of interpreters for non-English speaking persons or signers for the hearing-impaired will be made available upon request. Requests for these or other special services must be made to the Department of Budget and Fiscal Services, no later than close of business (4:30 p.m.), January 20, 2009 by calling 768-3933 (V/TDD) or email at bfscdbgmail@honolulu.gov.

All interested persons are invited to attend.
