NOTICE TO BIDDERS

BID FORMS for IFB No. 09-0167, with plans, MURAKAMI STADIUM STAIRWAY REPLACEMENT, will be available from and received in the OFFICE OF PROCUREMENT AND REAL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT (OPRPM), UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII, 1400 LOWER CAMPUS ROAD, ROOM 15, HONOLULU, HAWAII 96822.

Written notice of intention to bid is due in OPRPM by 4:30 p.m., November 28, 2008. Intention to bid via FAX (808) 956-2093 is acceptable.

Due to conditions at the site that may not be clearly identified in the technical specifications and plans, it is highly recommended that all bidders attend the pre-bid conference/job site walk-through at 10:00 a.m, November 20, 2008, at the Les Murakami Stadium Grand Slam Room. Bidders must purchase a Gate Ticket ($3.00) and park in lower campus parking structure (Zone 20). Contractors shall display the visitor parking ticket on their dashboard in plain view for parking guards.

Requests for Substitution/Clarification must be submitted to the Technical Representative, Kirk Yuen, Facilities Management Office, 2002 East-West Road, Honolulu, Hawaii, 96822, no later than 4:00 p.m., November 24, 2008.

Bids must be submitted no later than 2:30 p.m., December 8, 2008.

Bids received after the stated due time and date(s) above will not be considered.

The project shall generally consist of removal and replacement of two (2) existing wood stairwell with two (2) new concrete stairwells. Work includes earthwork, excavation, carpentry, painting, electrical, reinforcing steel, metal railings, and fiberglass reinforced plastic doors. General Contractor shall hire a third party independent Geotechnical Engineer, a Soils testing laboratory, a Special Inspector for earthwork and concrete/steel reinforcing placement, and an Industrial Hygienist for air monitoring and testing of lead containing paint, complete.

To be eligible to bid, bidders must possess a valid State of Hawaii contractor’s license B. BIDS FROM CONTRACTORS NOT LICENSED IN THE STATE OF HAWAII WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
