NOTICE TO BIDDERS

BID FORMS for IFB No. 09-0001, with plans, Renovation of DA Building 7881 for Nursing Program and Temporary Nursing Portables, Leeward Community College, will be available from and received in the OFFICE OF PROCUREMENT AND REAL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT (OPRPM), UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII, 1400 LOWER CAMPUS ROAD, ROOM 15, HONOLULU, HAWAII 96822.

Written notice of intention to bid is due in OPRPM by 4:30 p.m., November 10, 2008. Intention to bid via FAX (808) 956-2093 is acceptable.

Due to conditions at the site that may not be clearly identified in technical specifications and plans, it is highly recommended that all bidders attend a pre bid conference/job site walk through at 1:00 p.m., October 29, 2008, at Leeward Community College, Campus Center Building, 2nd Floor, Senate Chambers Room, Pearl City, Hawaii.

Requests for Substitution/Clarification must be submitted to the Technical Representative, Herbert Ishida, FAX (808) 956-0865, no later than 4:00 p.m., November 6, 2008.

Bids must be submitted no later than 2:30 p.m., November 20, 2008.
Bids received after the due time and date(s) fixed above will not be considered.

The project in general shall consist of TWO (2) parts:

1) Renovation of the existing basement Automotive Shop into a Nursing Classroom facility with one existing storage bay to remain as storage. Facility shall include Preparation Room, Nursing Lab with sinks, Classroom, Storage Room, Student Lounge, restrooms. Includes new walkway in front of basement entry doors leading to chair lift, and accessible route to portable and fiber optic tie into college network, and miscellaneous work, as called for in the plans and specifications.

2) Provide new portable Nursing Facility across the existing driveway from the basement with a new accessible route, ramp and walkway leading to new chair lift to be installed on existing stairs. Nursing Facility shall include two Nursing lab with sinks, Storage room with shelving and washer/dryer, Locker Room, Offices, Conference Room and fiber optic tie into college network, and miscellaneous related work, as called for in the plans and specifications.

To be eligible to bid, bidders must possess a valid State of Hawaii contractor’s license B. BIDS FROM CONTRACTORS NOT LICENSED IN THE STATE OF HAWAII WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
