NOTICE TO BIDDERS

BID FORMS for IFB No. 09-0107, with plans, SECURITY CARD ACCESS SYSTEM, STUDENT HOUSING DORMITORIES, will be available from and received in the OFFICE OF PROCUREMENT AND REAL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT (OPRPM), UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII, 1400 LOWER CAMPUS ROAD, ROOM 15, HONOLULU, HAWAII 96822.

Written notice of intention to bid is due in OPRPM by 4:30 p.m., October 20, 2008. Intention to bid via FAX (808) 956-2093 is acceptable.

Due to conditions at the site that may not be clearly identified in technical specifications and plans, it is highly recommended that all bidders attend the pre-bid conference/job site walk-through at 9:00 a.m., October 9, 2008, at Hale Aloha Cafeteria, 2573 Dole Street, Honolulu, Hawaii. Bidders must purchase a Gate Ticket ($3.00) and park in the Quarry, Zone 20. Bidders are to display the visitor parking ticket on their dashboard in plain view of parking guards.

Requests for Substitution/Clarification must be submitted to the Technical Representative, Loren Lau, Office of Capital Improvements, 1960 East-West Road, Biomedical Sciences B-102, Honolulu, Hawaii, 96822, no later than 4:00 p.m., October 16, 2008.

Bids must be submitted no later than 2:30 p.m., October 30, 2008. Bids received after the stated due time and date(s) will not be considered.

The project shall in general consist of door hardware replacement at Hale Aloha, Hale Noelani, Hale Wainani, Hale Anuenue, Hale Kahawai, Hale Laulima, and Johnson Hall, and includes selective demolition, carpentry, security card access system, steel, wood and aluminum entrance doors, painting, hazardous material mitigation, and miscellaneous work as shown on the Plans and Technical Specifications. General Contractor shall hire a third party independent qualified consultant to provide hazardous abatement monitoring and testing.

To be eligible to bid, bidders must possess a valid State of Hawaii contractor’s license B. BIDS FROM CONTRACTORS NOT LICENSED IN THE STATE OF HAWAII WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
