NOTICE FOR LOTTERY FOR
PUBLICATION DISPENSING RACK SPACES
THROUGHOUT THE WAIKIKI SPECIAL DISTRICT

In accordance with the Revised Ordinances of Honolulu, the Department of Customer Services will be conducting a supplemental lottery for vacant publication dispensing rack spaces throughout the Waikiki Special District. The lotteries will be held as follows:

DATE: Tuesday, November 18, 2008

LOCATION: Division of Motor Vehicle, Licensing and Permits
Chinatown Gateway Plaza
1031 Nuuanu Avenue
Second Floor, Conference Room

TIMES: 12-inch space lottery: 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
9:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. – Sign-in
(Publishers must check in by 9:30 a.m. to participate in the lottery.)
9:30 a.m. – Lottery begins

24-inch space lottery: 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
1:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. – Sign-in
(Publishers must check in by 1:30 p.m. to participate in the lottery.)
1:30 p.m. – Lottery begins

Only vacant spaces in all of the publication dispensing rack enclosures will be offered at this lottery. Permits will be valid from January 1, 2009 to June 30, 2011. The fee will be $90.00 per space per publication for the remaining 30 months of the three-year permit period. All payments for spaces selected at the lottery will be due by December 12, 2008.

IMPORTANT: In order to participate in the lottery, all publishers or interested persons are required to register by completing and submitting an application form, required supporting documents, and the $50.00 non-refundable application fee for each publication postmarked no later than October 31, 2008. Applications that are postmarked after October 31, 2008 will be returned and the applicant will not be allowed to participate in this supplemental lottery. Registration will not be allowed on the day of the lottery. Each applicant must declare on the application form whether they will participate in the 12-inch or 24-inch space lottery, but not both.
