NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS

The Department of Hawaiian Home Lands (DHHL) is requesting proposals from interested Housing Contractors to construct single-family houses in the Piilani Mai Ke Kai Subdivision – Phase 1, which is an Undivided Interest Project, also known as Anahola Residence Lots, Unit 6, located in Anahola, Kauai, and adjacent to the DHHL Anahola Residence Lots, Units 4 and 5.

The entire subdivision is 71.3 acres in size. This subdivision is designed for 181 single family residential lots and one (1) school/residential expansion lot. Currently, nine (9) lots within the subdivision have existing lessees and homes. The remaining 172 single family lots are to be developed in three phases. This Request for Proposals (RFP) is specifically for Phase 1.

Phase 1 will construct up to 56 single family residential houses for Piilani Mai Ke Kai Undivided Interest lessees. This is a request for proposals to construct 26 single-family turnkey houses with an option to construct one (1) to 30 additional single-family turnkey houses.

On September 11, 2008, an RFP CD may be obtained from DHHL at Hale Kalanianaole, 91-5420 Kapolei Parkway Kapolei, Hawaii 96707. The RFP may also be examined at the location indicated above.
Prospective Offerors are encouraged to attend an informational conference at 10 a.m. on September 23, 2008 at Hale Kalanianaole, 91-5420 Kapolei Parkway, Kapolei, Hawaii 96707 regarding this solicitation.

All proposals must be in conformance with this RFP. Proposals for the Project will be received at DHHL, Hale Kalanianaole, 91-5420 Kapolei Parkway, Kapolei, Hawaii 96707 until 4:00 p.m., on October 16, 2008.

DHHL reserves the right to cancel the request for proposals and reject any and all proposals when it is in the best interest of the DHHL.
